About X-Bax
Updated: August 2018
X-Bax was Phil Dole's reaction to being holed up for a weekend in 2004 with Earth's Earth 2 album. Phil had dabbled with unconventional and experimental music on-and-off since the end of the 1980's (briefly playing router in the Vancouver noise-band Glob), but hadn't yet focused in on his obsession with texture. Encouraged by reaction to In Search Of The Brown Note, Phil continued to explore various ideas as X-Bax while working with the Chicago-based power-ambient group, Chord.
Ken "Long Beach" Huntington was brought on in 2015 to add an extra dimension to the mix, especially in the live setting.
